As many of you know, recent updates broke our beloved PLDX recording tool in various ways.

Enter Montz, and his Lawena Recording Tool. His tool aims to fill the void left by the PLDX GUI. He describes it as follows:

A simple Java tool which greatly enhances your TF2 image quality for recording purposes, with surprisingly little performance loss compared to other such configurations. Basic recording support with key bindings to start and stop recording with the same button, lock viewmodels and increase/decrease recording frame rate. Easy-to-use and no install required. This tool does not interfere with your regular TF2 configuration, HUD or launch options. Requires Steam in order to run.

Features:

  • Insane max quality graphics configuration.
  • Recorded files are saved to a separate directory for comfort and order.
  • Options to enable/disable various game elements which may be unnecessary in the context of a movie.
  • Includes 3 built-in moviehuds with different levels of simplicity.
  • Supports custom HUDs to add a personal touch to your movies.
  • Supports demos that were recorded before the Hatless Update.
  • Comes with full instructions in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
